On the 25th January, Microsoft announced details about its first phase of release plans for Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Power Platform for 2023. They are a collection of improved capabilities set to be made available between April 2023 and September 2023. Hundreds of updates and improvements are included in this year’s first release wave, illustrating Microsoft’s ongoing dedication to enabling digital transformation. We’ve looked into the new features and chosen the ones we believe your organisation will find most useful in order to help you better understand what’s coming in this Wave. We will look at the new features of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales, Customers Service, Marketing, and The Power Platform in detail in a series of blogs. The first is Sales.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales is a powerful customer relationship management (CRM) tool made to assist organisations in better managing their operations and interactions with customers. A number of exciting new features and improvements are included in the Dynamics 365 Sales 2023 Wave 1 release, all of which are intended to enhance the user experience, boost productivity, and support organisations in achieving their objectives. Here are a few of those crucial characteristics which we have selected as the most exciting updates:

  1. Improved Opportunity Management with the New Pipeline View.

This new feature in Dynamics 365 Sales alludes to a completely new pipeline view for managing opportunities. This new view, which Microsoft states will be comparable to the previously announced Deal Manager feature, will provide a more modern and approachable experience for managing opportunities in a single workspace. This view gives users the option to create custom views and view other metrics such as pipeline values and deal numbers. Using an editable grid and side panel, it will support quick updates of opportunities. It’s designed to make it simpler to identify any potential problems that might have come to light while pursuing an opportunity. By employing this feature, salespeople can:

  • Organise opportunities in the best way to suit themselves
  • Add notes and tasks when needed

  1. Communicate with your Customers via SMS

Users will be able to use SMS for sales with Dynamics 365 thanks to this feature. Organisations can use Dynamics 365 to send SMS messages to customers as well as receive and reply to incoming SMS messages. It is simple to view and manage the complete history of customer interactions because the SMS conversations are stored within Dynamics 365, along with other customer interactions.

  1. Focus Mode

By completing updates and calls, a new focus mode will help users quickly go through their records. Users will be able to switch between their default grid and the focused view with a single click thanks to this customisable layout’s additional “up next” action cards with focused view filters

  1. Smart Organisation Charts

This brand-new feature will show an organisation’s structure, relationships, and important stakeholders in a way that is visually appealing. Users will be able to quickly identify key decision-makers and individual activity.  Make a customer organisation chart quickly to comprehend the hierarchy and stakeholders for a given account, which will aid in engaging and expanding the network of contacts. This is created using machine learning and artificial intelligence, which offer real-time insights and recommendations based on connections and relationships within an organisation.
